I've often wondered if/when Amazon would offer some type of audiobook service like this, but I didn't know if they would, what with the Audible service that they've regularly promoted.
Thankfully, Kindle Unlimited is a WAY better feature than I imagined and I'm thrilled with all it entails:
SWEET!
Here's a cool screenshot of the Kindle Unlimited ad that was displayed on my Kindle Fire:
When I visited the ad it played a beautiful Kindle Unlimited video that I recommend watching.
Even if you're not interested in this service the artwork of this ad is top-notch (it's only 50 seconds long)!
I love all the book covers that have been made into boats, the book paper trees, and more!
Here's the video below:
When you go to Amazon's bookstore on your Kindle Fire you can find Kindle Unlimited and browse through the available categories and selection.
To get there tap Books at the top of your Kindle Fire (not shown).
Tap the menu icon at the top left (three horizontal lines):
Tap Kindle Unlimited:
There you go!
Just scroll up to see additional sections like "Editors' Picks", "Short Reads", etc.
Tap the blue "See more" or "See More Categories" links to browse through even more books. Or just do a search to see if a book you want to read is available with Kindle Unlimited.
For example, I did a search for one of my favorite books, "Sorcery & Cecelia: or The Enchanged Chocolate Pot" by Patricia C. Wrede and Caroline Stevemer. Lo and behold it was listed as a Kindle Unlimited title (see image below)! Woot!
Kindle Unlimited would have been PERFECT for the week long vacation I was on, but it wasn't announced until a few days after I returned home.
However, I haven't personally started my free trial yet as I have a LOT of work to be done before I'll have enough free time to enjoy reading books and listening to audiobooks but as soon as I do you can bet your bonnet I'm going to love this awesome new service!
Please note Amazon's Kindle Unlimited Terms of Use. It's always a good idea to read these, plus this page has additional information you may need to know.
Oh, and as an FYI, the subscription to this service can be canceled any time, just go to your Amazon account and change your settings.
Of course, with billions (or more) books out there, not all titles will be available, but no doubt this is just the beginning! I foresee hundreds of thousands more ebooks and audiobooks being added over the years. (If you don't believe me do some research on the progress of Amazon Prime. This feature started small and has grown into a mammoth!)
